Golf CSL at the Klassikstadt in Frankfurt

I had some free time last Saturday in Frankfurt so I visited the Klassikstadt. It is a huge old factory containing service and restoration shops, classic car dealers, and storage. The hightlights for me were the 507 and CSL.

That KassikStadt looks really interesting. Although when looking at their calendar, it seems that on May 21, they have what appears to be a Stern old timers Farting contest. Admittedly, my German is a little wobbly but that still seems a little odd to me. But hey, to each his own...

The similarity of some German (and other languages) words to English words makes for some interesting literal translations. Menus are usually full of unexpected things.

ADAC Oldtimer Rally for Hessen day in Herborn.

ADAC, the German equivalent to AAA, sponsors lots of driving events. You can even use your AAA card in Germany if your rental breaks down. A few years ago I happened to staying in a town that was on one of the ADAC rally routes. It was very cool to see lots of oldtimers driving through the middle of the town.
