Goodwood, how it all went
I did manage to get my Coupe to Goodwood after a fun drive via central London at 5 pm on Thursday evening! so the clutch was fully tested and did OK, as did the cooling system.
I also got to check the Coupes water resilience on Friday evening with plenty of rain, only some of it came and and hey it wont start the rust, only make it rust faster! Anyone camping overnight during the event will probably also feel a touch rusty.
My plan to get into the Pre 1973 car park failed, the attendant was too smart, but I was very close at the front of the car park A with my Blue CSi.
Other Coupes, I did see a CSi in the main car park with a for sale sign on the Friday and a very nice red CSL on Saturday, I was also sent a photo of a blue CSL that looked great, so Coupes were represented.
Racing, I watched a practice on the Friday where 3 white BMW '02's from the same company lead the entire pack, 1,2,3, what is even more surprising is that it was in the wet! until one mini 1275 got the fastest time. Shame there are no races for Coupes, however I would not be brave enough to put mine out there. Also watched a 1275 Mini put up a very brave fight in the dry vs a Ford Galaxy which is about 6 litres and XX tonnes, in the end the power won but not by much on the straights and not in the corners.
I will post photos later this week when the I get them, I took plenty of behind the scenes shots as requested.
If you want to go next year start buying tickets soon,it is a fun day out where non car people also have a good time.
