Hi guys,

After a couple of months lurking unregistered here and collecting valuable knowledge (props to this community) I wanted to introduce you to my dream vintage BMW, my new to me 1969 2800CS (VIN: 2200661).
I got the car at the end of April after selling my 83 Euro 635csi. My dream 2 car solution was always an '02 and E9 but when I first got into classic cars I could only afford an E21 and eventually added the aforementioned E24. Even though the sale was kind of heartbreaking it was happening to fund my dream vintage bimmer, the E9.
Since I got the car I managed to do a few maintenance item of the list such as rear shocks, a complete brake system overhaul, a complete detailing job, some electrical work and a front transmission seal.
I own my own shop so it's hard to get my car on the ramp when I have customer cars on there so things have gone slowly for my liking (the restoration of the '02 being somewhat of a shitshow doesn't help either)
I am currently waiting for a set of maxilite e50 style faces to start building some wheels for the car (specs pulled from this forum :D) and I am looking for some lowering springs and a complete AC retrofit solution (I know, I know, a very easy task)
I leave you with some photos of the E9 and my other oldies.
Thank you for welcoming me in your community!

Welcome to the forum! All your cars look great, as well as the surroundings. The black license plate, which country does it come from?

Welcome - lovely car (have a Chamonix as well ;-)

I have done some AC retrofits, reach out in case of questions - and enjoy the ride!

Congratulations and welcome to the family. I don't own an E9, but your '83 Euro 635CSi is / was absolutely beautiful. (I formerly owned an '85 M635 variant that had been imported to the US. Euro E24 bumpers are the best!)

Thank you for the replies!

The black plates are Italian historic plates, I believe. Unfortunately they had to be returned to the local authorities when the export papers were made.

I do AC work in my shop so I have all the right equipment to do it, actually I had just finished the retrofit on the E24 before selling it (fortunately to a client of mine so I will see the car around) I went through the threads on the forum and as far as I understand the alternative to sourcing old parts is either the Oldenzaal kit which looks very well made but costs 9k euros or the kit that @Lucas is developing. If you have any other sources that I missed I'm glad to explore them.

Totally agree, this generation of bumpers is the best combo of class and sportiness
