Granatrot

I might add...all the comments on the one just like it that they used to own or rode in at one time, all the duplicate questions that have already been answered, and all the WRONG information masquerading as facts.

This brings up something I have pondered. Do the commenters comments and questions serve any purpose other than entertainment?

Combine the useless (and erroneous and harmful) comments with a BaT description that is also useless (but seldom harmful), and it becomes more and more painful to tune in to BaT. Add to that, the "bump" BaT seems to bring to the price, and it ends up (for me) a lousy place to BUY a car. Still a great place to SELL a car, however and still a business model that I wish I had thought of first.

I think we should start nit picking the car now so Chris can get ahead of the game. A little warm up if you will.

- Beautiful car. Is that a factory color?
- Are you sure?
- Is that a 2002 grille?
- I heard these cars have nuclear reactors on the exhaust from '70-74. Does this car still have those?
- Are you sure?
- Why is there a gap there?
- Is that over spray?
- What happened to the body lines on the side? The ones right there that you can't see?
- Why are these cars worth so much now?
- Why is the window like that?
Oh yes--And can you please remove the rocker panel covers and both front fenders so we can see if there's any rust?
Where's the driving video?

"Can you make a video of someone poking holes in the rocker panels with a screw driver. And does the car have all the glass? The front windows seem to be missing. Although I can parts of the rears. Thanks."

I had those BBS wheels on my 635, carried this with me at all times. My universal center hub remover. Toss one in with the sale and description!

"I hear these cars rust"

As a great example, the RHD CSL on BaT right now (auction end is a couple of hours away) is getting some interesting comments:
"Does anyone know where to get the original seats" (this CSL has Scheel seats)

Does BAT do follow-up on sales to ensure the buyer is content and the description was accurate? This way, sellers can get ratings similar to Ebay. I realize this could cut into sales and profit but it is the right thing to do....if you cared about customer service.

bavbob, you are kidding, right? "Follow up....buyer content....description was accurate....realize this could cut into sales and profit....but the right thing to do....cared about customer service." For BaT and most other corporations, the answer to your question is "none of the above."

I don’t think this is true. BaT puts sellers in touch with The second bidder in line if/when there is an issue. They also offer full service options now.

Dang / Chris / Markos ... is there a place on the site that Chris can post all of the pics / descriptions and let us have a look without the general public having access? a members only section

I can add a "members only" forum that would only be visible to registered users, but you'd also have to wear a fake leather jacket.

Nice looking car Chris. I too like the way it sits. Just a little bit of rake.

Stevehose may be right about that color...
