Any idea as to timeframe?

Well, the first step was to determine how many to order. I think we are at 25 which is about the minimum. On the first run the vendor took about 3-4 weeks from the order to have pieces in my hands. Depending on my travel schedule it would be about 1-2 weeks to get them in the hands of people who order. If we let this thread run a few more days I would say we're talking mid to late October?
Judging from the response, I will probably order about 25 white and 25 inka at a minimum and I may even go up to 100 pieces total. I am sure that E9ers will crawl out of the woodwork like last time and run the count up; we have a fair number of board members who only check in once a month or so and they miss things like this.
I guess if I have left overs I can hawk them for big $$ at shows. I may also pick a third surprise color if the setup charges aren't too bad; I have an older quote of about $30 for each extra color scheme. At 50 pieces the old price was around $25 and at 100 pieces it was down to about $19. Domestic shipping was about $2.50 and international was about $5.5 (with packing). This time I plan to fix the shipping around $4 so our friends around the world get a fair shake. I have just sent in a formal quote request to the badge vendor. I expect to hear back on Tuesday about prices and I will let everyone know.
Now, the question is, what limited edition "special" color would be extra cool! I am thinking about Golf to honor Gunter's recently restored CSL? Frankly, I like the white and I also think that Inka looks good on the proofs. Polaris would probably blend too much with the chrome. Turkis might be hard to get right. Blue and Black would also blend. It's so hard to decide!
A final problem I will have to deal with is that I expect if I order 25 inkas I will get orders for 28. I will do my best to honor color requests but I may have to implement some form of first come, first serve on color choice. For E9ers who actually own Inka cars I think it would be only fair to give first dibs. I guess I am already asking for everyone's understanding before it becomes an issue.
Orangener, you don't need to worry, you and the boys in Vienna are always at the top of the list!
I am thinking we might also want to donate one to the BMW museum and I think their is some type of foundation collecting BMW memorabilia. Another thing might be to hand a few out to people in the community that we all really appreciate like CoupeKing, Carl Nelson, etc. I am open to suggestions like this if anyone has them.
