Hagerty Recommended Value Change

Howdy All!

Anyone else get an email from Hagerty with a recommendation to increase the insured value of your coupe? They think mine went up 10% based on current market trends.
Curious what you all have seen from them.

I received a similar message earlier this year. I did not increase my coverage, in part because I've been watching the transactions around @HB Chris' coupe, which is nicer than mine. If that car shoots up in value, I'll reconsider.

i've got to start paying attention to that and increase the value of the insurance on my coupe. i haven't worried about it while it was in restoration mode ... but it definitely needs to be addressed now.

Well, I would view it another way. If you have cherished salvage and agreed value on the vehicle I would push that value up as high as they will allow. The additional 10% may be nominal in yearly cost but if something happens to the car I would like as big a payout as possible and also keep the car.

I agree with this assessment. I would be very hard pressed to replace/replicate this car, and the nominal increase in premium is offset significantly by this. Glad I started this thread, as its good food for thought to be sure we are adequately covered!
