Perhaps others aren't aware that to receive notices you must first go to User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Options and then go the box labeled Messaging & Notifications. Check the boxes to Enable PM, receive e-mail of PM and show new PM pop-up. Also when selling items or inquiring about an item for sale, you should check back at least daily.

Thanks for the help! I am on a lot of forums and it is a little different here. I have gotten it taken care of so hopefully I will start getting notifications. Thanks again! I do appreciate it.

the problem with original, old wheels

some people consider wheels a consumable, depending on how they're used.
If I were racing, or doing high autobahn speeds I would want new wheels or repro's that pass meaningful standards of function and quality (such as TUV).

If the car were for general touring or show, original parts are preferred. And, obviously, this is mainly a concern for real mags versus aluminum alloy wheels.

And in the case of wire wheels, there's no question that the modern 'repros' are vastly superior to the originals. I'd take a set of Dayton/MWS/Turano wheels anyday over a set of 50 year old originals. But I might like the originals for showing (e.g. not driving).

Any REAL offers on these? I paid quite a bit for them as I knew they were hard to come by. I am in SoCal area quite often and can deliver there free of charge with a non refundable deposit. I will be in San Diego towards the end of February for 3-4 days. I also have a friend that is in the LA area almost every weekend.

As a FYI - these are still available from H&B
I believe 3100 dollars a set.

I checked the costing to refurbish these wheels and it was getting close to the price for new wheels. With the possibility of 40 year old fatigue from an unknown history I thought it best to save for a new set. Good opportunity for someone capable of doing the work themselves.

I am pretty sure that I have responded to everyone that contacted me but if I missed you please let me know.

Are these wheels still available? I am looking for 16 inch 7s and 8s. I understand yours are all 8 inch. Perhaps the rims can be modified or remanufactured? Do you know the offsets on these? I need 11 and 24 offsets for front and rears. I am new to this forum so if I am not proceeding properly please direct me accordingly.

Really? I was sure they are out of business for quite some time. How do I contact them?

http://www.hbspecialists.com Under 'restoration & parts'.

Saw them first hand at the shop a couple of years ago. The rims are built to order using the H&B centers and BBS rim halves.

The business is H&B BMW now and not the original Hardy&Beck.
