In a French mystery series, "Balthazar" the coroner/detective drove a variety of great cars including the Alpine fitted in racing trim. Also recommend the series.
 
Have heard them called a French 911. Famous rally cars I think now are being reintroduced.

Yes, it’s been on market in Europe and the UK for a few years now. A friend has one he bought in France and shipped to New Caledonia. It gets very favorable reviews against the Porsche Cayman in the UK automotive press.
 
Gordon Murray says it's one of his favorite modern sports cars. Really the only modern car left with a focus on being extremely lightweight...
