That looks like a plastic captive nut available in many sizes at the parts store?
I will get a few close up photos of one I have and post it here soon.
The nut has been shipped by one " Big Nut".

No it was about mounting caged nut for newer type headlights.
That level adjusters are for early type headlights.
And a belated sorry, the e9 and 2002 plastic nuts are indeed different.
