Head rest

Can somebody tell me why my head rest is stuck in the up position. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

probably because the retainers of the two vertical chromed bars, are stuck also,

it will not be easy, but try to spray some lubricating product through the upper holes until it reaches the mentioned retainers

Since you got it to move(down I assume?) you might want to capitalize on the new found freedom of movement and pull the headrests all the way out.Polish up the chrome shafts,wrap a piece of green scrubbie pad around a wooden dowel and run that up and down the tubes in the seat back then spray some silicone down the tubes and the headrests will move as they were intended.

Chrome rings

be careful not to break one of the chrome trim rings when you remove the headrest (like I did!)...
