B35 exhaust manifolds are a good alternative. They are less prone to cracking also.

B35 exhaust manifolds are a good alternative. They are less prone to cracking also.
Based on everything I have read, BMW stock exhaust manifolds were really pretty decent for stock motors. Headers improvement in performance only becomes noticeable in highly modified motors and this would mostly affect the higher rpm range. In daily drive mode, little difference is noticeable to the driver.
Now, in terms of visual appeal, there is of course no comparison. But notice how most of the sexy pics of headers are taken with them outside of the engine bay? Once they are where they will actually spend most of their life, the reality is they are pretty hard to see...

I just had my 1 3/8" stahl's ceramic coated. They are a thing of beauty. Too soon for the car and too long for my wall.Currently hiding under my parts car.
Your headers are definitely a thing of beauty. Who did the ceramic coating?
Thanks! Performance coatings in WA did mine. Apparently people ship their headers to him. I just drove there and dropped mine off. They are actually tumbled to make the silver coating shiny. Who knew?
When 8 of us did the group buy of Stahl headers we all had then ceramic coated by Nitro Coat somewhere down south...Georgia?

They will work for both. Depending on how aggressive you get, you could go up to 1.5’s. The B35 exhaust manifold flows really well and a lot of folks don’t find a reason to run headers.
