Headlight Wipers Rubber Blades Repair Set 1 356 734 & 1 361 019 for E3 E9 E12 E30 and others

Due to the need for my E30 I found I need to repair my headlight wipers as the rubber become stiff and crunchy. :(

In my case (but not only) metal clip with ball joint and steel spring reinforcements was fine (needs a little of cleaning) so only the rubber required change.

I found proper technology shop experienced with rubber technology for Automotive.
Some spare material has been produced for my needs (spare parts) and to refund tooling costs.
Sold already several sets (4pcs each) and feedback is very good - still receiving questions about the sets.

Maybe you will find it interesting as well. :)

Same shape and lenght is used for E3, E9, E12, E21, E23, E24, E28 and E30.
There are two lenghts:
- 125mm (in most of models) for ref. # 61 63 1 356 734

You must have been selling these on Ebay. I bought some a year or two ago and they worked perfectly and OEM quality.

Yes, they were of high quality and are still indistinguishable from the originals.

Now, if you can figure out how to reproduce the wiper arms you will be a rich man...

So far I was able to find a craftman who did the ball joints brackets.

I can't hide I'd like to produce the arms. It's just a question of the quantities.

I would prefer to have it as much as original - no compromises like 3D printing.

Original pair of arms is with me, so the reference is here. :cool:

There is also a question about the motors. Also quite unique. I know from specific thread on this forum MB ones are similar but not 100%.
Is there other way for motors I'm not aware of?
 
For the rubber blades...

They've been made same process as orignally at BOSCH.
Also material is special Automotive grade rubber type (resistant to common chemistry).

Regarding the arms...

I'm using 3D prints at work and for private and I wouldn't install 3D printed headlight arms in my E9.
1. Most of them will not survive long at strong sunlight or heavy winters
2. They are prone for bending and cracking or even delamination
3. The structure is not very nice in the end (additional sanding/painting)

It doesn't mean to make the right die casting is easy but I would not make it by myself but order where they know how to do it.
Arms are from steel (stamping) plus plastic inserts for bal joints.
Nothing really difficult but costly and require some management as I would be for ordering from few places (diversification)
