It's time to install a new headliner.....
I have a sunroof car and the headliner was completely destroyed and unusable even for patterns.
There was a molded panel near the rear window that was just a rotted mass of undeciferable shape.

Here is another reference to it that I found in another post...

"On the sunroof coupe you will also need to remove the molded wood form to which the headliner is glued from the car."

Does anybody have a picture of this panel, or better yet an old usable one to sell?
TIA

Does this end in a small gap at the rear edge for air flow?
On an '02 the sunroof cars didn't have the gap at the aft edge like the solid roof cars......
Does it use those nasty clips to hold it to the roof?
BTW Thanks! This really helps!

61Porsche... Thanks, I finally figured out how to look at your pictures. Lots of good info there. It will be invaluable!

In the pictures, This panel looks like a molded flat piece....Am I interpreting this correctly?
If so I could form one from Alum Sheet perhaps.

Try

emailing Bavman otherwise known as Al. He's splitting up a CSI from what he posted recently in the parts section.

But by all means post in the wanted section. You could get lucky.

Dave - This piece is not flat. There are two sections at the rear that curve down to meet the top of the 'C' pillars. There are also deep indented sections where the overhead handles mount to/through. It would not be an easily reproducible shape. Of the thousands of photos I took of the restoration, there were a few of this panel, and they, are the only ones that have disappeared.

Sven,
Thanks for the heads up....It sounds significantly different from the solid roof panel shown in vranedom's pictures......

Search the

forum for ElRey- headliners for sale- there's more headliner pictures. Also try Whalem6 here- for the part.

deCoupe,
That's a good thread. I used it when I did the headliner on my '02.
Still haven't found any pictures of a E9 install with a sunroof...:-(
