Headliner

Hello , I am working on a 1966 BMW 2000cs . I have removed the headliner and find there are no bows . There is a large fiberboard that covers the roof. I this correct or did someone change something its my first coupe. Does the head liner get glued to this board . Thanks

Hi;
I had a 2000CS with the same set-up. Mine was bowed down in the center so I left it on the floor with a lot of weight to try to get the bow down. I would get some heavy douple face carpet tape and put 5 or 6 strips on the side that goes against the roof when you install it. Velcrow would work as well. I have tons of info on the 2000CS af as finding parts and I also have a contact that has two parts cars. Let me know if you need anything.
