Looking for interest in the Hella LED center brake light upgrade for rear-end protection...

I sold dozens of these to folks in the 2002 and other pre-1986 / early model forums, but ran out when they became unavailable from Hella Australia; they ran out 5 years ago.
The lights are very bright, stick to the inside of the rear glass (top or bottom), draw very little and - here's the nice part- you can AIM the LED panel within up and down a small amount. This allows directing the light beam into the eyes of a majority of the drivers behind you for maximum dazzle and benefit.

It's non stock, as cars prior to 1986 had no requirement, but it is made by Hella, and is VERY effective. With the work and $$$ we put into most of our babies, it is wise insurance against idiots in trucks and SUVs. Anybody priced a pair of tail lights lately (and that is the cheap part)?

Post your comments, opinions, and interest in a possible group order here! If you decide on this, I can wire it for plug-n-play into your car without cutting crimping soldering or other disruptive adaptations. At around 2 watts it will not prove to be a disruptive load on your wiring.

Let me know if you want more pics- I will post.

Andy

PS- I also restore the tail lights themselves- restoring the 'shiny' to the reflector surfaces and upgrading to safe high output bulbs and even doubling the tail light with TWO bulbs for larger, brighter tails, and redundancy for maximum reliability and safety. No danger of melting, either!

Hey JC!
The last batch I had sold for $108... pre-wired, shipping included. This batch has the potential for lower cost, as yet unknown... the question is shipping cost from SE Asia. I anticipate under $75, but will know after they arrive and I learn the costs (as yet unknown).

The light is nice and bright, as Hella is famous for. I have several different Hella 'rear fog' and center brake light models from various cars, they are all pretty good. The nice feature on this 5238 is the aiming ability. You pull the back cover off and the panel holding the led and lens array has different settings you can choose... up and down.

Meanwhile, I found two more of the GLAS magazine- one older, and one new (numbers 140 and 145)! Now, I do have a scanner- what pages were you scanning? If it's not too many, I could send you the scans and save the time and the postage!

Andy

Sure, put me down for one. Regarding the Glas magazines, after I had scanned in some of the pages there I discovered that they have PDFs of them on the members portion of the Glas Club, so that was effort by you (shipping) and by me (scanning and shipping back) that wasn't necessary...but thanks for the offer!

No worries! Saving time and postage are fine with me too.
Send me an email or pm with the year, VIN and model for the coupe- I'll wire it for a plug and play install.
