HELP! Easy checks on Carbs for novice

Hi all,

final stages of completing 2800cs Auto. Nearly there but the engine idling is not great and running rough. Wouldn't know where to start - is there any quick checks I can perform.

Also I am in the UK (car is currently in Milton Keynes) will be in Manchester in coming weeks. Anyone recommend anyone who can sort these if required???

well, not an expert but while waiting for others to chime in.....
maybe double check point gap, spark plugs, plug wires good and hooked up correctly, timing, valve adjustment...one thing you can do with the carbs is look in the top when its running and see if there is gas dripping in at idle, if there is... then the float is too high, Once all the ignition is sorted out there are a lot of details on the Zeniths to attend to and i think you need to follow the service manual instructions to tune them. If you dont have the book I believe the steps are outlined in the service manual link on this site. Good luck!
