Help needed: what's this CSL ducktail worth?

Would be grateful for some help. I've a CSL ducktail that came with a '73 csi that I bought in LA last year. The part looks to be genuine: it's fiberglass, has a little badge on the inside face that reads "BMW-motorsport-gmbh' with a stamped serial number. Overall it's in good, clean condition and the rubber spoiler lip is still supple. Perfectly fits the trunk lid. Would really appreciate your opinion of value. I have a buyer for it in San Francisco (thanks to SF Don) but not sure what to ask. Thanks in advance!

That is an original spoiler. The parts # plaque is very rare to see, generally fallen off along the way, unfortunate is the missing unique BMW emblem (see pic) which is almost impossible to find. Unique because it has a special part number based on its size and fits the curve of the spoiler surface. The rubber lip, although supple seems to show signs of its age.….expectedly.
My 2 cents worth….. value around 500-600$.

I wouldn't sell that if I were you, that part will only go up! Ebay has Petri & Alpina's for 4000.00 so I would start there o_O

Hi Byron, I have one of these also, just like yours, with the little blue tag also. f.w.i.w. mine has no evidence of any emblem mounting. I believe these are being re-popped, or have been recently. I would find out what the repop ones sell for, and ask 2x that for your original. Oh it looks to be in fine shape, b.t.w.
(and yeah, I am keeping mine also)

The original spoilers are so rare, and almost never come up for sale. Starting point would be $1000 imo. (I paid $800 few years ago, and since then E9 part prices have continued to go exponential)
