Just when I thought I had it all figured out I can't find anyone willing to shorten my driveshaft.

What I'm hearing:
1. Non-servicable u-joints
2. No way to secure for reweld/balance

Anyone have a "guy" in West Michigan? Or anywhere else I can ship it to?

Or a source (gulp) for a new custom length replacement?

Out here on the left coast, having a new one made is cheaper than having one shortened.

Don, here's an important question - what is the proper length of a new driveshaft for a coupe with a getrag 265/6? or is the best answer just email aelias and tell him to send one like he makes for you? when i look at their online quote system there is only the stock driveshaft for each model.

I was very pleased with driveshaft pro. The advantage of buying from them is that you will have new u-joints and center bearings. Remember to buy new lock nuts for all the bolts at the guibo and third member.

@rsporsche, one of the challenges in driveshaft measurement that I recall from previous discussions is the variation in the transmission output flange size (shown here).

Also need to know which guibo you plan to use, @sfdon has recommended the M5 guibo as superior.

What Don said, cost effective and a better option, ship overseas too. And super helpful to make sure it's the right length
