I have not had a chance to test it out, but I installed an amplified hidden antenna (similar to what is sold on crutchfield), and mounted it to the top of the heater box on the driver side, sort of behind and to the left of the center speaker. Directions and all reviews say not to mount it to metal, which is hard in the upper areas of the dash, but this solved that problem.
