I was hoping someone could help me with the procedures for replacing the heater hoses on a 72 CS (Euro) and offer some suggestions on what else I should take care of while I'm at it.
One of the hoses is leaking by the firewall. I've looked at the generous space that the designers have provided us with, and have come to the conclusion that I need to take (at least) the rear Zenith off. So it looks like I'll need to do the following
Many thanks in advance for your help.

One of the hoses is leaking by the firewall. I've looked at the generous space that the designers have provided us with, and have come to the conclusion that I need to take (at least) the rear Zenith off. So it looks like I'll need to do the following
- disconnect fuel hoses
- disconnect a couple of wires
- disconnect the throttle linkage
- disconnect the coolant/heater hoses between the carbs
- remove the carb
- How does the carb come off the intake manifold? My parts catalogue seems inconsistent. Page 13/12 show four studs that look like they go through the manifold and the lower part (carb heater?). But page 11/38 shows the lower part attached by bolts from the bottom. Do I need to take the carb off in pieces (top and bottom)? Depending on how I do this I'll need to order different sets of gaskets.
- Is it better to take the manifold off?
- I plan to replace the hoses between the carbs and do a little cleaning while things are off. At the risk of 'might as well' is there anything you would really recommend I take care off while I have it open?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
