HOW MANY CALENDARS DO YOU WANT?

Yikes! Anyone keeping count? These should be nice but I doubt they'll be as nice as the badges. Considering we haven't even posted a detailed concept this is pretty amazing! I feel lucky to be the one getting all the cool photos. Maybe I should publish a photo CD when we're done?! I actually have access to a professional CD burner / printer that can do stacks of 100-250 at a time! No promises but I'll check into cutting a CD to ship with each calendar!

And I'll add my thanks for your enthusiasm and passion for our favorite ride--your follow through and execution from concept to conclusion is truly impressive in this forum--I'm sure I speak for a few others when I suggest that we have all beneifited from your input.

I think things are settled enough that we can set dates:

1. All photos need to be submitted by midnight Dec 5.
2. I will have all submitted photos placed in the Gallery for viewing by Dec midnight December 6 with a Cut-Off notice
3. Voting can start once the Cut-Off notice is posted. I suggest we simply post emails to my account. I will provide instructions. Then again, if anyone has a better idea for collecting / counting votes I would welcome a suggestion :?: :!:
4. Voting will stop by midnight Dec 8.
5. I will try to post results by midnight Dec 9 and create a new gallery of only the "winners."
6. I will try to post a gallery of the Cover and Monthly layouts as soon as it is complete. My hope it as soon as Dec 12.
7. I will place an order for XX calendars ASAP after this and open the door for orders. The print shop is saying 2-3 days so, could be mailing by Dec 15!

.... and pigs and fly and my coupe has no rust. I will do my best to pull this off on this schedule but I anticipate that voting and layout may take longer. I do expect to get them to most people by Jan 1 and my goal is Dec 24.

How may question can be when edit a poll?Perhaps would be possible to vote for the top ten in the forum, and later edit a poll..with the 10 finalist

The purpose of this "How Many" thread is to let me get a reasonable estimate of how many calendars I need to print. I don't want to print 100 and then have 50 people who want them because I am the bank providing the financing. I also don't want to print 50 and have 100 takers (although this is easier to fix).

Using a poll question to vote for favorite photos is also a small problem. The is no way to prevent someone (like me) from voting over and over for my personal favorite. Doing an email vote does provide some level of protection (me) against double voting. It also would prevent SPAMMERS and LOOKY-LOOS from trying to corrupt the vote. The down side is people must trust me. :twisted: Another possibility is to have a public vote with people placing their votes in a public thread; this also has a downside of not having any privacy.

I am really open to suggestion on this. I have no experience in running an on-line vote. I also don't want to put Dan through any trouble either setting up some new mechanism. As a cryptographer by trade, I can envision some truly interesting ways to enforce a Single Vote with strong and private authentication. However, in the end it really doesn't matter too much, it's just a calendar and it will have some great coupe photos from a bunch of great people! It should be very easy to enjoy the result.

As I have stated earlier, I personally want to see a photo from every submitter included. We'll try to use a vote for the cover and monthly photos. Right now we have only 16 contestants and I am only expecting a few more before it is over. In order to accomplish my objective I am planning to include some simple photo-galleries in the calendar; perhaps the first and last pages (requires one to three more sheets for $0.8 each).

Nothing much has changed after our club-session, i still take 4 calendar, 2 of them for Gunter (Ecto) , 1 for me and 1 for Georg !
