how remove the hood emblem ?

The emblem is affixed with two studs. You can slip dental floss behind the emblem and gently pull on both side to pull it up evenly. If you can't get the floss behind the emblem, you can remove the kidney and push on the studs from underneath. Maybe even spay some WD-40 so as to get some fluid between the studs and the body metal.

Hope this helps you.

I would try to get a look at the studs first before pulling on it, my rear emblem was fixed with speed nuts where pulling would have snapped it, a PO could have done something there more permanant than the correct method per Keshav.

I agree. You might be safer tapping the studs from underneath. Originally two plastic 'holders' are pressed into the body and the emblem studs press into them. You should be able to see them from under neath, either from behind the kidney or from the headlight grills after removal. Those original plastic inserts are not available but I'm pretty sure some hardware shop would have some very similar sized ones.

there are some plastic inserts for the hood emblem available from w+n ... i just got some new ones recently.
A51141807495 they are 0.65 euro each

Thanks for the pointer Scott. Atleast something E9 is cheap :)

yes Gary, very true ... but Keshav doesn't have 49 euro shipping in germany ... he just has to pay a little more to include VAT

On my E24's, there is also a wad of 3M strip caulk in the middle of the rondel holding it on. I have also just used 3M strip caulk in place of the plastic studs since I had a bit of rust around them and the strip caulk is water tight.
