I have a serious problem... I am addicted to Coupe Porn

This one does it for me.

black coupes need bling - i think BBS RS wheels are perfect on it, just like the picture you posted ... and i've got speedway polished / ceramic coated belt trims ready to go on along with new flag mirrors on both sides plus new chrome fender and hood grilles ... then chrome wiper arms.

so maybe i change in a week or so when the car comes out of the paint shop.

An addiction can also be cured by replacing it with another addiction. My new one is tango.

Horizontal or vertical?

Re style - Stand and look at the rear 1/4 view taking in the Hofmeister, then through the elegantly sloped rear window to the wooden dash and Petri. Lovely. There are other angles to be found, such as the side on profile of a ( tastefully ) lowered car.

Black side & hood grills, make them recede like in the pic I posted, chrome wipers, 16" BBS RS 001 wheels & CSL air dam.

Black cars always look fabulous for about 10 minutes after being detailed :D

yep, Dan ... its all about the chrome. i have a friend in Birmingham, AL that has a series 1 black E type coupe. that looks very similar. that's a really pretty car. the louvered hood brings me back to Andrew's comment about the black fender / hood grilles on the pic he posted. i will have to get a set of black grilles

I do love these wheels and set up. Once I get my car back I think I might investigate purchasing these. Any idea on how much?

Scott, a fully refinished set will cost you between 2400 and 3000 bucks. check out http://ewheelworks.us/ ... these guys are seriously good at BBS RS wheels

At the launch of the E24, sienna or topaz brün seems to have been a favorite color for photos.

Look pretty good to me.

i had a topaz e12 ... they never looked as good as they did in the photos. and i like topaz a lot more than siena - more copper than brown. it was a color of the time, remember the '82 toyota supra in that terra cotta color - wheeler dealers redid one in that color this past season.

Scott,
If Andrew talks you out of your chrome side grilles I'll take them. I have black now, and I think I'd rather have the sides chrome and the hood grilles black. To me, the side grilles are a focal point in the side view of the car, and should be seen; the hood grilles are there for a function, so I'd rather not emphasize them. But hey, if we all agreed, it would be a boring world...

Like all cars, to me, more important than paint color, is STANCE AND WHEELS!

You can have a perfectly painted car, with boring wheels and sky high stance and it will be invisible.

But, have a car with SERIOUS patina, needing paint, etc., but with the RIGHT ride height and wheels...transforms it to a serious machine IMHO.

Boring:

of course, paint job will make it look 100% better, just sayin' what porn I gravitate towards: tastefully customized cars.
