planning to swap my original diff with an LSD

is there any detail as GL5 or similar

i do have access to

CASTROL SYNTRAX LIMITED SLIP 75W140

and to:

CASTROL AXLE Z LIMITED SLIP 90

which one should i use ?

if i use the DIFF with the oil canister for recovering oil vapours should i fill it until the lateral opening too ?

regards

Castrol Axle Z Limited Slip 90 or Amsoil or Redline Hypoid 90.

Fill until the oil reaches the per fill threads or just drips out

thank you

essentially both castrol products are GL5, any reason not to use the syntrax ?
syntrax seems to be fully sinthetic, would this be a problem for the seals ?

regards

I swap in Redline every time I get my hands on a new project BMW. Do change the seals.

Both should have the same viscosity. So the choice is yours. If the differential is new to you, just replace the seals.

the DIFF has been professionally overhauled with new seals:

some comments on the synth oils being a bit thinner is my concern

but as viscosity i would say they start at similar (slightly better a 75 in cold) and a good keep up to 140 when hot, would be for sure better, DIFFs tend to be very hot

Already mentioned by Andrew, Redline Hypoid 90. I will say I got a small leak after using it, hence my statement on the seals.

BTW, what I wrote was suppose to be "un poco chiste".
