Does anyone know if it makes any difference which way the Distributor Drive is installed?
I can´t se any marks on it that indicate any particular position. It can be turned 180 deg. in relation to the camshaft. The reason I ask is that this possibly could explain why the engine has misfiring.

Engine at TDC, distributor rotor lined up like in figure 3.6 in the picture, when inserting the distributor the rotor will move to the mark on the dist housing at the 8 o'clock position.

Sorry, forgot to tell that it is a 3.3 L-Jet in my car. The distributor mark should be about 3:30
And the rotor is spot on too. Cam chain and sprocket also in the right position. The idle is very high (1600-1700 rpm) and when the timing lamp is on, the timing shows 12-15 degrees AFTER TDC??
Is there a psychiatrist in this forum?
