Immaculate tool kit w red screwdrivers SOLD

Just check my feedback on any tool kits I have sold here. These are as close to new as you will find. Yes if you look with a microscope you may find a pin head sized blemish, but I sure couldn't. There are no pits or blems on the chrome. The screwdriver handles are immaculate and the wrenches are a matching set with BMW forged into the shanks. Included is one of my new blue cloths, with logo as original, that I sell alone for $40. $310 shipped in the USA with the case and $295 without the case.

SOLD

Burt, did BMW make two different tool kits for our coupes. The one in your photo looks nothing like mine or any others I have seen. There is no place for the feeler gauge and some other small parts. Tools are arranged differently. Could you clarify?

Thanks, Steve

Steve,
to answer your question, yes ... the '74 tool box is different. that's a later type ... not sure if that's the e24 version ... and whether or not its the same as the '74.

From what I have figured out, and according to realoem, the later E9cars used the same tray as the early E12 and E24s

Not a very good scanned photo, but here is an original 74 CS tool box, from a 74 3.0CS. The box appears to be the same as for the later BMWs, but some tools and their compartments are different, such as for the spark plugs, hex wrench and the valve adjustment tool. Don't see a slot for the valve feeler gauge though.

Interesting differences between that 74 CS box and my "74" CS carbed coupe that was sold originally in Italy. BMW says my car was built in early 73 but titled 74. I will send you a photo but you will have to PM me your email since I am challenged by all things computer.

A side-by-side shot would be interesting if you could put it together and post it here.

To confuse things a little more, here is the tool kit/box from a 1975 E3 3.0si sedan. I would've assume the E9/E3 tool kits would be the same. Believe this exact kit was handed down to the early 6 series coupe.

I would to say a big Mahalo to Bert for sending a great looking set of tools and tray.
Another plus, it was sent out very quickly.

Thanks again and great seller,
David
