I know people mention using Vanagon injectors, but they only flow 16-17# depending on fuel pressure. Besides having someone build a suitable injector, has anyone used anything like a SAAB -432(~23.8#@3bar) or similar?
I'd like to keep a barb top, or in the case of later Bosch II or III style, anyone sink the seat in the manifold flat instead of at an angle so the injector is perpendicular to the head and use a b35 fuel rail?

La Jolla sells barbed cups that adapt to the newer injectors (expensive though). A search on this site should reveal some injector sources (I recall Sfdon recently posted some info).

Boring the injector seats flat won't help you much since the injector plate mounting points are still at an angle and and the injector would probably not fit between the mounts in a vertical position.

I have a set of the 19/20 lb injectors that work with the cups that would work well with the stock b35. They only have about 1,000 miles on them. I upsized to 25lb on this car recently.

Alternatively you could also do a custom rail like the one on my car.

Robert jr is now making 26 # injectors for me for coupes with cams etc.
They seem to be just right.

As far as the injector seats go, yes it would work because the only reason I would do it would be because I would be using a stock b35 fuel rail, then I would fabricate mounts between the manifold and rail mounts. The angle of the injector retainer plates is moot since the fabricated mounts would compensate for that.
About your injectors that you won't be using, are they available? Do they use o-ring or barbed connections? If barbed, I have a later L-jet fuel rail that would work. PM me about those please. I was looking for around 23-24# myself, but your 20# could get me up and running.

A word of caution- a m3b35 engine with a Paul Burke cam and 18# injectors data logged at 103% duty cycle on me. That is melt down time for injectors. You can feel it clipping at WOT. Svens new injectors are running 40%? which is great. It's not a straightline graph for duty cycle.
I believe Robert is charging 50 bucks an injector brand new?
Another issue is stock injectors B35 are "stream" injectors, they will pool badly in the intake port from the stub manifold. I prefer "Fog" injectors for that reason.

Are you talking about the stock -714 b34/35 yellow tops when you describe the single spray center pintle? On a similar built b35 that is my engine for this build, I'm using type lll 21# ford injectors with four hole pintles. Is this what you mean when you describe "fog" style injectors? These are my preferred injectors, but I was hoping for a stock looking setup with barb style feed.

I had this exact problem on my modded B34 M30 with PB cam, etc. It "ran out of gas" at upper RPMs. I went with the 24lb injectors and a higher fuel pressure (50 PSI) and retuned the fuel map to account for the different injectors. The motor was much happier and I gained 10 Lbs of torque and 10 HP at the wheels over the smaller injectors.

Sorry- I don't know anything about the Ford injectors.

I believe they are Bosch injectors that are used in Fords.

I use the generation III Bosch injectors (the ones with the 4 spray holes). They atomize the fuel well - probably what Don is referring to as fogging.

Those are the exact injectors I'm talking about. They're commonly referred to as "Mustang III" and a common upgrade for b34/35. I like them. I just wish they didn't look so modern. The ones in your pictures above are type II if they have a steel body. III's are the all plastic ones. You can find them in ~'95 Ford T-Bird and Mercurys.

Try these: Bosch 0280150947 (~25lb). They have the old style fat metal body and the 4 holes at the tip. I just installed a set of these on a b35 with Burke cam and high compression pistons.

Note - I had my local injector guy go through them and check/clean even though they were advertised as remanufactured. They needed it too.

Sven, Don, when you mention Paul's cam, which one are you referring to? N21 or N31? I'm talking to them now and trying to decide what to go with. If I should start a new thread about this topic I guess I can, but for me it's all related.
Also, It looks like I'm going with aluminum #6 stock and building my own fuel rail like you, Sven, since La Jolla wants $35(x6) for adapters. Fun stuff.

I don't know anything about the N31. I would follow their advice for your build.
