Can someone point me to a thread if one exists on installing the rear bumper over (under) riders and bumper for a 72?
The parts diagrams don't seem to really match
I have the install set from WN
There is a square hole, but no carriage bolt to fit, does one use the speed nut and screw?
What is the sequence?

Underrider must be installed on bumper first with the speednut holding it to bumper, carriage bolt should be in the under rider and installed towards the body.

thanks, I will look again at it tomorrow, not sure I am clear
But exciting I am getting to the point of putting the bumpers on

The diagram shows a rubber block between the under rider and the body
I don't have that, what should go between the over rider and body?
With the over rider parts, there is a longish (maybe 8") strip of rubber, 1/2 wide, where does that go?

driving me nuts... ha ha
The speed nut obviously goes with the flat part towards the under rider so the screw can thread, but if inserted from the visible side nothing holds it
Are the clamp wings supposed to spread and hold it in?

Mark, just checked my coupe: m8 bolt inside bumper facing down to the under rider, this is why it must be done first. Looks like you have a small carriage bolt which will fit the bill. Long M8 bolt from valance towards under rider, it’s tricky to insert next to spare tire well. And rubber goes on the under rider first as well as you can’t access the nuts which always snap.

Mark -- one comment on something I modified when I installed mine. The underriders are designed to sit flush to the body of the car, but because they are open on the back water can still get into them. This is why so many of them rusted away.

I put a small spacer in between valance and the underrider so that it sits away from the car just a little bit. You can't see this gap unless you lay under the bumper and look up (although I would bet money Macha would find it if ever I put my car in a concourse that he was judging.)

Like the drain holes in the rockers? ha ha
I think I have it all together, not on the car yet
Progress!
