Have people re-soldered the black rings in the cluster or just used a little crazy glue or equivalent?

I used 2 small spots of siicone each
A couple dabs of JB weld 
5 minute epoxy / quick JB
I soldered and wouldn't recommend it. Next time would be JB. If you use rosin it can bleed down onto the face of the wood.
