INTERESTING Details.. 1974 E9 has at least 25-30 changes from a 1973

Odd....

I was cut off yesterday by a glossy haired woman with pert breasts, (she was texting) Yet I found her demeanor to be quite "goblin - like" when I flipped her off. Possibly a missing link? On subject though....I would not mind the steering wheel a bit closer to the dash than what I run now....320 i wheel, about 3 1/2'' hub length. A Momo hub is the same. The Nardi hub I have in the stash is 2 1/2'' Too bad I don't have a Nardi wheel as to continue the experiment. Donations accepted, say a nice 390 mm Nardi wheel....in the interest of science....possibly tax deductible (important this time of year)

I was looking at some of the differences between a 1974 and a 1973 and there are at least 25-30 changes that I noticed and I know there are a lot more... Surprising that BMW would spend the money on engineering, design and tooling for a car that was being discontinued...

When I first started restoring my '74 I blindly bought items off eBay only to find that the '74 was different. Peter says the '74 had important upgrades, but all I can see is an increase in unobtanium '74 specific parts. I still can't find the underdash or rear shock elephant skins.

Telesoping wheel

The telescoping wheel applied to the E3's as well and that series carried through 1977 in Europe so at least that investment was not solely for 1974 US coupes.

old thread, but I found something odd recently, I had to replace the brackets that hold the hood hinges and head light suports
Then the original AC condenser won't bolt in, the left lower bracket location is changed
My car is a 72 and the brackets are from a 74
Why?
