Internal door lubrication

Apologies for the digression, that is great analogy. RPN notation in HP calculators becomes the way you think, you cannot convert to Casio.

I once wrote a program that plays Dominoes for the HP41C and had it play against 250 people. It got better outcomes than me playing... way before chatGPT.

you always surprise me finding alternative creative ways, i embrace the RPN because that HP 28S calculator would pass as a non programmable under the inexpert eyes of eng.school proffessors, so they were allowed into the examination rooms, then matrix equations, direct operation with complex numbers, and hydraulical machines calculus iterations were at reach on the tip of my fingers…
….it was later that I discovered that my soul had converted to a higher form on the wings of the reverse Polish notation unique religion, but it was too late then…

the good grease by @eriknetherlands

White lithium grease is the worst. It dries up and hardens almost worse than what’s been in there all these years. Brake cleaner is excellent for cleaning the old greases off but it can eat the plastics and I’d only do if I was taking the parts out of the door unless you have lots of rags around and use the straw. On an E28 forum, someone recommended “gun scrubber” which for all intents and purposes seems like pricier brake cleaner.

The new chain lube technologies are great for this stuff.

And definitely replace all of the grommets.
