Guys, here is my not so bright question for the day.
Can anyone help by telling me what these switches are?
Red is hazard
Orange should be heated rear window, but it doesn't work.
The mechanical switch resets the mileage trip.
The right hand silver looking switch is collected to nothing internally, I guess not standard.
But, what are the two red ones that look like trip switches that can reset? Are these standard as I can't find them in the books?
Thanks
C

Charles - they are breakers for the rear electric windows, particular to the late model

Switches

Could the third non standard switch be a controller for an aeriel? The other tw are the breakers for the power windows. On my car the orange is for the rear fog. The HRW is controlled by a pull up switch on the centre console by the gear lever.

I would guess the window switch may have been for starting if the ignition lock went bad and then someone renewed the barrel or grub screw and spring meaning it functioned again. I have seen a couple of cs's with a switch for starting.

Yes it could, mine came with a toggle switch on the steering column for that purpose

The rear defogger switch is un-bmw in that the male connectors are all the same size so it potentially can be hooked up incorrectly.
