Hi guys
My AAV valve on csi seems to open and close very slowly and , I don’t think it closes fully either.
I have seen a part listing on eBay for the thermostat “bulb” but I am not sure if it would work on a CSi AAV
It describes itself as a jaguar part.

Has anyone succeeded in finding the part and swapping it out ?
And if so where can it be bought ?
Thanks.

Hi Barry,
there is one guy in Austria overhauling the "Zusatzluftschieber", if you need assistance let me know by pm.
Did you test the function already? Dismount the ZLS and put the capsule of the element in the fridge, the piston should move to the close
position. Put it then in hot(not boiling!) water. Check if the piston opens.
Never try to move the piston by force.

Hi Tom
I did not put it in the fridge
I went from room temperature and then into boiling water.
I can see it move , but it does not close completely

Hi Barry,
20240229_150957.jpg20240229_150650.jpg
So I did the same procedure just now.
Pic on the right: room temperature, piston about 50% retracted
Pic on the left: after putting it in hot water, piston in close position <1mm gap.
ZLS is in the fridge now! Will send a pic of the piston position after some time.
.....same as second pic....
I can offer you to send one of my not properly working ones for repair and we will exchange afterwards our ZLSs
or
I send you the one I just tested.
I will check how long repair will take and about the cost!
Thomas

Update: for the repair of one ZLS he is asking for 320€. It will take about 2 weeks.
But he is telling that the elements are mo longer available and he is running out of stock

Hi Tom
Thanks for checking in to it for me .
€320 is a bit expensive perhaps.
If I could find the element for sale, I could probably fix mine myself.
But as you say , the elements might be in short supply.
I have even wondered if perhaps one from a different car might work.
I’m just thinking out loud now though.
