Is this an early coupe expansion tank?

Keep on going through boxes, found this one, it could be from the “race coupe” that I was building.

Any information would be appreciated.

I think I will keep it, as the plastic, well, it is after all just plastic, thus finite.
The other, is a solid chunk of brass. :)

I would take it down to the original brass. I did that on my coupe. Steve Hose put me on to it. Not everyone's cup of antifreeze. My Bavaria has a B35 motor, so I will leave the plastic tank plastic.
 
I originally had the painted brass tank in my car (OE setup for a 2800 - I think).
When Don had my car, I had him install a different brass tank. One that I earlier picked up from Murray (Bluemax). Don had a radiator shop refurb the tank and polish it up.
I like the way it ended up. IMO looks classy with the rest of the 'CSi Look' M90 that he installed.
