so as im moving along here one thing that really stands out is that a
lot of the new parts acquired are not "with the same detail" as the oem stuff.
the door strip seal doesnt have the texture on it anymore
its just a print of the old pattern,
and the plastic circles that hold the swiches (haz and things
now have a big block type nut
not the crenelation style
the rear door seals are a whimper of what was thick.
the roundels dont match the bases
they need to be perimeter filed to fit.
on and on
 
Good advice. I've got boxes of stuff from the Coupe, the Datsun, the Ducati, and a '66 BSA but I'd never get rid of them on the off chance they might be able to be reproduced
 
And let us not forget the elephant skin and the tool kits. And front windshield gaskets that don't fit and the list goes on.
