Hi!

I see on the German E9 forum (www.e9-forum.de) that KHM has a winter special with slightly reduced price of carpet sets. I'm considering buying a 2-tone-loop type.
Since I want to have a CSL-ish interior that matches the Scheel seats I'm going for black. But which black? Please help me here, should it be "427 charcoal" or "434 black"?

I know that the CSL actually had a thinner carpet, but I'd like to have some sound dampening...

I think it depends on the car color and seat color. For a white car (which I think yours is), then I agree that Charcoal is likely a good fit. For a black car, it needs to be black. Bold, not watered down. Then the black/natural coco mats align beautifully as well.

with the scheel mann interior, which comes across as black / gray ... i think the black is a bit much. the KHM charcoal is darker than the original BMW charcoal (but not as dark as the GAHH charcoal). i have a black car, and black door panels, black seats + black carpet is a bit much. i like the look of the charcoal.

another look that is worth considering is the charcoal square weave.

Ah, the Darth Vader look. Yes, my black car - black carpet comment was geared towards a black car with tan or red seats.

Although I am sure that the black on black on black on black works for some, a little bit of compositional contrast develops a nice design solution.

Here are some more pictures, if it helps.
This is directly under 1,5KW of flourescent light, so the gray "pops" out a bit more in these pictures than it does when the mats are in the car or in natural light.

If Robert stopped where he is with the retrim and installed a milk crate as a driver's seat, I would still be envious of his interior. All that beautiful, rust free sheet metal. Seems a shame to cover it up with carpet :(

Haha, a little part of me feel the same way, it’s not that fun to put alot of glue all over the nice sheetmetal and new paint, knowing that it will look horrible if you’d ever try to remove the carpet.
But thanks for the compliments!:)
