Brochures are at times a stretch of the imagination and don’t necessarily reflect the real car options.

Totally agree. That is why they are fun to post! :D However, I still haven’t seen an e9 brochure or ad with a four slot grille. Surely BMW had magazine ads in 1974!

Although not directly BMW, have you seen a Petri brochure with philips screws? To me they all seem to depict hex type although in reality both types are to be found

I haven't seen any brochures or documentation to support that the wheel had screws. The 1972 accessories catalog shows hex screws. That is pretty early into the CSL run, so I can only presume that hex screws are correct. They certainly look better, but I have a set of the screws that Dan obtained. I've also had two different VW/Audi wheels. They both had seemingly OEM hex screws under the horn button (which obscures the screws). They screws had the original lock washers, which I kept.

this is a very old thread so not sure if any other 74 brochures have been posted

I think this is a 1974 coupe brochure.

This 5 slat VS. 4 slat kidney grill discussion reminds me of the 2002 "snorkel" on a Tii controversy. I can just add that my '72 2002 that I bought new on 5-31-72 was made in Munich in April '72. The kidney has black slats.
What is a facelift CS ?
