I have a set from my Euro, front seats only with this chrome partition. Are these still being used or has everyone moved to three points from Bludevil?

These are also in my 72 csi. They feel secure, but greatly restrict your movement. I assume they’re original, so I live with them. Am I correct, or have I been unnecessarily torturing myself?

Yes original, see the stamp in my photo. These are only 2 point and run from behind the back seats. I have switched to Al's 3 point belts but wasn't sure if I should hold on to these.

Are you using the original webbing? After so much time there is sure to be a large reduction in fiber strength. I've read that early belt are polyester and new ones are nylon. Nylon looses strength faster to UV exposure than polyester.
I did a little research and race harnesses should be replaced after two years. Consumer seatbelts were said to need replacement in 15 to 25 years, though I suspect few are replaced unless damaged in an accident.

I've got the Klippan belts in my car and intend to keep them, but feel that after 50 years, new webbing is called for.

I have Al's belts, Klippan are in a box and I have no intention of using them. The windows to this car were covered in dirt so I think the UV light never made it through. Just was thinking of saving them for originality.....

@bavbob I think they're pretty interesting, especially the Euro style clasp you show in the pic. I have the US style lap belts and find it fun to take young people for rides, gives them perspective on how far we've come to save lives.... Even though at the moment I don't seem to care about Thiers!!!!

If you don't want to hang on to them I think they'd be fun to display somehow.

The other thing to keep in mind is there is no retraction mechanism for these. It looks like a bunch of rope sitting in your car, detracts for the beauty of the interior.

bluedevils is an amazing resource. So knowledgeable on belts for classic BMWs. He custom fabricated a lap belt "extension" for me some years back, as it appears my original has, well, shrunk. ;)
