I know of at least one person that has passed on the car so far. Looking at the photos, the inner fenders may have been replaced. I see red over spray on the hood latch. The shock towers are missing the vertical metal strip that holds the hood seal. Also, there is a CSI airbox mount that wouldn't have come on a CS, but does come on replacement fenders. Something is going on under the driver's side rear underrider.

So in the opinion of the group, what is a car like this worth?

I will pass on that it does not run, has cracked windshield, totally rotted floor (front and rear both sides)... you can see the carpet when viewed from beneath. Trunklid cannot be opened and per the images timber is shot as are the seats.

This is clearly not a 11.5k car but with that amount of rust, what is something like this worth. Just for discussion? I personally think it is nearing parts only.

I'd say that it is worth more as a car than it is as parts. As a car, I'd say $5K-$6K. It would be difficult to pull those numbers with parts. The AC, Bumpers, and rear disks could net you $2,500. You would need to squeeze out another $3,500 from a multitude of ~$100 parts. Not to mention you would be destroying a nice car, but 'nice' is subjective.

Yeah that pricepoint was my view too as the guy sent me the pics of the rust. But then the issue is how much you end up putting in to build a nice car!
 
Purchase Max's shell, 7500,beat this guy down as far as you can 9K, add 1oK for a great driveline, 10K for all the interior parts in leather etc and 10K for paint, puts you in at over 45K, wasn't there an awesome turn-key black upgraded CSI for less than that on the board?

Just sayin' I don't think there is 9K worth of parts on that car but who knows- I still think someone needs to buy Max's car and wait for an opportunity to get a super donor for less than 10K, then you can still paint it and be ahead of the game.
 
The owner sent me many photos of this car. It is pretty rough, does not run and there is something funky going on with the fenders. I think there are better deals out there personally. As I part out my '73 and continue to be annoyed with corrosion and seized fixings, I am not sure where there is 10k value in this car. While it can be restored for the amount discussed above, I must ask whether it would command a decent value given the extent of rust. Namely, the cars that are worth the bigger dollars were already better cars to start with weren't they? Just asking.
