i have received some things from @TomHom and he doesn't ship UPS. and so far i haven't paid any customs / duty on anything from him. used parts don't have to carry the same prices as new (on customs forms) ... if you get my drift.
 
Even if it's $1, it has to go through customs these days. The "de minimis" exemption was revoked back toward the end of last year. The problem is not so much the duty, it's the customs broker paperwork fees.
 
do yourself a favor, talk to Thomas, it will be worth your while. several of us have bought through him and not paid a tariff ... not going into detail here (for obvious reasons), but there is a reason we have / continue to buy from him.
