Legends of the Autobahn at Monterey Car week, August 14, 2025

Thanks for sharing the pictures! So the #2 is a recent build by SFDon? Or the same as last year's green E9?
I could not join as I was at work during the week and went to Concorso yesterday. Got a bit of the car week flavor there.

If they combined Legends with Concorso I could cover my German and Italian car interest in one place!
It would be called Legends of the Marshall Plan!

Some pictures I like...

Who's BMW is that with what looks like Talbot mirrors on the fender? Killer wheels too, looks really nice.
I don’t remember his full name but I believe his first name is Dieter. He is rightfully really proud of the Talbot mirror he found and added. The car is all original inside and has the original unrestored engine. A great survivor.

Peter G. in the house! Or the lawn? Nice! How did the Alpina do? Was it judged or display?

I got the garage space all ready to go for you here after Pebble when you are ready to drop it off! ;)

I had a fantastic time camping at Laguna Seca for several days...

Fortunately schedules overlapped and I was able to say hello in person to a great group of people:
@HB Chris, @Wes, @JMinPDX, @sfdon, @lafngrvy and Lloyd Watts.

Great conversation near the corkscrew about life, cars and current / future projects. Wes - I'm really sorry I ran out of cold beers. Steve - thanks for the history of the M10, M14 and M12 engines in the paddocks. Leo was happy to see Luigi again.

Near the F1 exhibit I had a serendipitous moment and crossed paths with Magnus Walker (he gave me a sticker). I'm a big fan of his "The Next Big Thing" show on the Hagerty Channel; he always has interesting cars & stories. Similar thumbs up to Larry Chen's "Capturing Car Culture" and Tom Cotter's "Barn Find Hunter" programs. Larry tends to focus on JDM vehicles and Cotter generally covers American vehicles from the 20's to the 70's.

I'll start uploading photos soon.. but this year, I took a lot of non-BMW shots. Hope that doesn't bother anyone.. maybe my photos should go in the off-topic area?
