Legends of the Autobahn Update

Raclette is only really smelly once you warm it up. You should give his nose a nice wipe of Camembert.

Hope to meet some of you guys tomorrow.

And I hope the weather is as good tomorrow as it was today. No fog at all today. Brilliant sunshine and about 75-80. Got to see all the Pebble cars do the tour and then checked them out parked on Ocean Ave at the end.
The wife and kids have zero interest so I will be solo.
Scott

Scott, maybe we can finally find some time to chat, unlike last time. I volunteered for the Pebble Tour today and then also made it to Ocean Avenue in time to see the cars arrive, pretty cool.

Chris

Well, I hope my wife did. I didn't even have time to come up for air! Twenty-seven coupes in attendance, eleven judged, it was very competitive. Ron Perry took first, Chuck Rich got second and third in coupe class. Chuck's Taiga CSL was selected best BMW overall. Just wait for next year, we may need to put a limit on judged cars and corral cars as well, we are busting at the seams.

Great day at Legends, first because my son joined me.

Verona was parked at the outer edge which worked out well because I had to leave early to drive my son back to the 21st century...

Interesting cars around me, the prewar Mercedes looks like a museum piece that is probably not driven 100 meters.

My son making the rounds, not quite a Verona hair, maybe Inka?

"Patina is never having to say I am sorry for the paint".
E9s behind it everywhere. My son told me right away my car is the most common in the show, what an aberration considering the production numbers.

There were more E9s than Port a Potties... Enough said.

All in all the Legends are the people not the cars, Don, Carl Nelson, Chris, Mike, Barry, Shannon, Brendan. All the folks responsible for the renaissance of the model against the odds of rust, labor cost, and progress. Proud to belong to a group of contrarians, do you agree?

The only negative is that it was just three german marques, when it was part of Concorso Italiano there was much more brand diversity to experience, and let's face it Italian design as art is a cut above.

I had a fantastic time, and it was great to see people again, and wonderful to put so many faces to so many names. I can't even describe how great it was meeting the E9 owners group. Fantastic group of people.

Thanks again Chris for sneaking me on the end. It was packed with Coupes for sure!

"More coupes than Porta-potties...."

Too funny!

Great to see and visit with everyone again. Good times.

And the 'Fastest Window'...get this... 5.5sec....

I gues if the coupes were near the portapotties and also the beer tent then this would be the ideal location!

Was the fastest window one window up and down???

MOAR Pics!

Other than Arde, nobody has posted any pics. I realize it is early but for those of us that couldn't make it, it sure is nice to see some early shots. In particular there looks to be an INKA coupe in Arde's pic with black trunk and probably black hood but cannot see hood, it is all the rear ends. Any chance someone has pictures of that car? Have fun Ladies and Gents, next year for sure for Anniversary.

The one in this picture: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-...AAAAAAACVE/5ogB0vBGRbA/s800-Ic42/legends5.jpg

That is Shanon's car. Love that livery scheme.

I'm sure Shanon will not mind these pic's.. He's still in Monterey

A few years back on the Volcano rally up in North California

New brakes all around... like Dan said 4 guys watching 1 guy working

Test run, they work just fine

Here is a few more.

Shanon's car upon request, Buddy's car is behind it:

This one should be Chris' Malaga:

The judging crew in action, that Verona is not mine. I did not compete because I hate to lose.

There is a pattern there:

A short video and audio! It was great that Legends opens with the Home of the Brave and not Legends Uber Alles or something:

The Malaga with front air dam belongs to Buddy, super nice gentleman. I will upload pics on Tuesday. Today was track day, saw Steve Walker driving the heck out of his 700S! Also saw multiple CSLs.

Fixed that, added what I think is your car, and youtubed the video clip.
