We are close to final painting on a full rebuild. See rear pictures.

The light weight rear bumper has been trial fitted and we have all asked the question why is it black gloss?

I have seen plenty of images of mostly Alpina's with very matt black rear bumpers but a few CSLs with gloss. As the decals are matt and the wheel hubs are matt black I wonder if they were all designed to match.

Has anyone got a stock original fibre glass bumper from the 70s and can report? Other comments?

Apologies if not a new question.

People who do repops use gelcoat which gives it that gloss. I've an original from '75 in the stash will pull it out to compare with a repop I also have out there...drop me an e-mail or pm with your e-mail address and I'll send the skinny

Hi,

It should be a matt finish.

I hope this helps.
