not as luxurious as the original hella for the csl versión, but original made in germany, not a bit of modern plastics on it, heavy and all interior parts made of metal over a bakelite support

i like it, but would love to hear your comments

sorry, pictures are not in the proper position, but i can not ammend this

on/off switch

Reminds me of a Land Rover map light...(only other type I have seen)

This one looks good and the lens resembles the license lamp for euro bumpers.

If someone has a picture of the CSL light, that would be neat to see also...

Time to map out a Holiday! 8-)

I think it is cool. Is it old?

yes, steve, i think so, was a local classic car show, seller was specialist in lighting, horns, radio, and so on, payed 105 euro, i do not have a date, nor a brand, only says "germany"
not a bit of modern sign in its construction, switch is same sort of that one in our ceiling lamp, and IMHO bakelite dates it before the 80's
another detail is that it uses the same old fashion bulbs as our instrument panel
another one is that the positive contact is not a tiny point like modern type lighter connectors, but a brass plate 15mm in diameter
in my opinion plastic grain is pretty old fashion, and clear plastic lens holder is chromed metal, not silver painted plastic, screw heads are flat type, not phillips,.....
i would say that it is period correct, but i do not really know,...who cares, i like it my little beauty, my useless night reading map light

remark: good news, i do not need to drill three holes in my pristine dash wood to place the original csl map reading light !
