Lock mechanism removal question

I decided to take out the passenger lock mechanism to clean it, as it was all gummed up and I felt like I was going to pull off the door handle every time I had to open the door. Originally I sprayed WD-40 in there which freed up the mechanism, but then thought better of it and decided to take it out and really clean it. It was a PITA getting it out as I had to remove the key lock first before it would come out. If I had a 30 mm wrench that was only about 3 mm thick it wouldn't be so bad getting the key lock out.

Just using the WD-40 made a big difference, so now I realize I've got to do the driver's door too, it just doesn't stick as bad as the passenger side!

My question is, can these lock mechanisms be removed without removing the key lock? Did I miss something? Since I've got the key lock out, is there anything to do to it to clean it? Also, is there any particular type of grease I should use to lube the mechanism?

Now that I've got the door panel off, my next project will be to replace the door card.

Just finished stripping the door right down in preparation for a chemical bath.
That skinny nut was easy enough to remove with an adjustable wrench and you don't need to remove all the rest of the lock mech to get to it, just be a little carefully not to cross thread it when refitting.
