Looking for a body shop in San Diego

Wow! I just had my air dam rebuilt and repainted here in WA, which isn’t the cheapest state. It was $1800 and looks perfect

@e9Leveque you said one critical thing that could affect price - REBUILT. if they had to do repair work in addition to prep + repainting, that's probably 1200 or so for repainting. did they also remove and install?

I had taken the air dam off myself. They stripped it down, found that some parts of it had been previously repaired/built up, took it all down to its base then did the work nrcrsssry to make it look right, primed then color matched and clear coated. It looks great. I had a cheaper unpainted CSL-style one that had come with the car which I asked them to do as well, he said it had some cracks and would be cheaper for me to buy a new one (Ireland, Jaymic, etc) and have them do that than repair mine. But yes, a good amount of work for under $2k. This place is primarily a body shop for local high end vehicles (they had the brand-new lamborghini Revuelto that had been damaged in shipping - ouch!)

i have seen the VSR air dam (CSL style) and it is built well and looks great. my understanding is that it is strong and if i was buying one ... that's what i would buy. i have an e24 style air dam for the coupe ... still debating whether i will put it on or not.

Yes it seems there are better and worse options out there. If you decide you don’t want the e24 one let me know - may have a use for it :)

not going to sell it, it is painted ceylon. the only question is whether it goes on or is hung on the wall until it gets installed.

It’s interesting how the air dams are a polarizing feature. I like the e24 one the best, then the CSL one, but prefer all of them with a front bumper. I know others like the pure version with bumper only whereas some go the air dam no bumper. Part of the fun of making it your own

I just had the air dam on my euro e24 painted. I was going to remove it and reinstall but was too busy finishing up our remodel. The shop I use did the whole thing for $1400 and the paint match is perfect (Cosmos Blue). I thought the price was a little high, I feel better after reading this thread. :)
