I was looking through the top of the rear window channels with my flashlight. I noticed that the compartment was nice and clean and that I could see the window gears. I was wondering if it's a good idea to spray some lubricant thru the top. If so, what lubricant would you recommend ?

You'll need a long "straw" on your lube device to keep from putting it all over.

I would think that if your windows run freely, leave them as is because lubricants tend to retain gunk (a technical term) and get gummed up. Otherwise I'd remove the side panels, they lift out, and put a thin smear grease on the gears.

Let's see what others think.

Test out on one of the windows first.

You can pull the panel and spray silicone lubricant or white lithium grease (spray can) on the gears and other contact areas of the window regulator.

I have seen this make a night and day difference in the speed of windows.
