Had the opportunity to see Luigi in action yesterday at
Portland Int'l Raceway. Great to see it in the paddock and chat with owner/driver Steve. It's even more impressive to see it on the track. Steve called it a shake down run in preparation for the Rolex Series next month at Laguna Seca.
Also big thanks to Karl Nelson for lunch.
Fun Day.

I look forward to seeing this car again..

In 2024, I contacted Steve weeks before Laguna Seca, and he was very generous. I stopped by the paddocks one morning to introduce myself, and Steve let my nine year-old sit in the driver's seat. A day later I was in a good spot for the start of the race (Group 5 ?) and got some cool shots as the cars lined up.

Here's a set of photos from that day:
  • Steve and fellow Jagermeister CSL owner talking before the race.
  • Luigi, Jagermeister and an M1 in the lineup.
  • Zac Browne's E30 and the previous cars
  • My nine year-old dreaming becoming Hans Stuck.

I believe SFDon, Wes, HBChris and others will be attending this year. I was going to politely suggest we should all meet in Luigi's paddock for a drink.. I'd be happy to provide the drinks...
