I am planning to put my original 3.0 engine away for long term storage on a pallet. To do this I have been planning to make some sort of cradle to mount it, so it isn't just lying on the pallet.

Does anyone have the dimensions and angles for the motor mounts so I can fab some brackets? Ideally it would go from horizontal (the pallet) to two angled pads that the motor mounts could attach to.

Thoughts? Plans? Examples?

TIA

Scott

What about putting it into a black/yellow Costco crate and then just filling the outside with expanding foam? That would cushion it fully. Could put aluminum foil (maybe sprayed with some Ballistol or something equivalent) around the engine just to keep it separated from the foam.

Around here, you can pick up a used engine stand for less than $100. That and a tarp would be an option. And it would be on wheels.

I use a furniture dolly for long term storage on my ultra-low miles m30b34 (although I am not sure why I am keeping it). The dolly keeps it low to the ground and easily movable. I used scrap plywood to support it.

I also have engine stands, but found the furniture dolly to be more compact.

I like that idea. My trans is on one of those

+2 on the furniture dolly. I've even started this one on the dolly...
