Life called and after months of no significant attention to the FI harness I've returned to it. Unfortunately, I've read one to many B35 conversion posts on this forum and am now confused despite past assistance from @sfdon and @HB Chris specifically on this concern.
Although this swap is not common, please humor me. In the picture attached, I've labeled the wires. The black wire that says fuel pump will be swapped out to green/violet.
1. Does the small gauge solid green wire get removed completely? If not, what next? I vaguely recall that wire being in the harness and going around to the passenger lights. I'm thinking that I started to fish out all dead wires and just forgot to pull this one through the firewall and back into the cabin for removal. Help?
2. Does the small gauge black wire go to the FI harness (e9 body harness from tach) and/or do you run a new wire from the coil to the tachometer?
I recall Don counseling against relying on a tach wire that was tapped into an old harness.
3. Do you attach the two green wires from the FI harness to one female clip and adjoin it to the new single green wire ran from ignition (e9 body)?
4. I've read the posts that says:
a) 15A fuse to fuel pump wire,
b) 15A ignition green to coil, and
c) 30A fuse to bus for pump and motronic from starter.
Location is throwing me off and I want to keep the routing of wires clean and sensible despite making a wiring diagram to stay with the car. I know b35ers put the fuses in the glove for a and b and, I think "c" above the booster. Can someone post a picture? Also, you will see two additional relays on the firewall, which was originally on the top of driver inner fender of the e28. One is a spare relay and the other is the o2 relay, which is present on the b34 but not on the b35. I placed a block above the booster (pictured), I was going to use that location for fuses versus inline and taped against fender or routed into glovebox. After months of car standing, I am now second guessing the pathway.
5. Before I am asked, yes, I will be cutting the clip off of the b34 FI harness and only using the six wires necessary. You can see the two green wires referenced in no. 3 in the FI harness.
Help? Comments and pictures would be greatly appreciated. I will put a link to the b35 post referenced with @sfdon, @Layne, and @csspecialist, and remove this sentence once I find it.
Trying to be mindful of the legacy request to make this question on b34s as user friendly to those persons who might need this later.
